Jose Pena is currently the Patrol Captain with the Denton County Sheriff's Office as of February 27, 2019. Captain Jose Pena started working as a Detention Officer with the Denton County Sheriff's Office in February of 1993. After working in the jail, Captain Jose Pena was promoted to the Patrol Division as a Patrol Deputy patrolling the unincorporated areas of Denton County. While working in the Patrol Division, Captain Jose Pena was a Field Training Officer assisting in training new Patrol Deputies in Patrol and a Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team member. Captain Jose Pena supervised the bicycle patrol unit, which was responsible for proactively patrolling the green belt and communities in the unincorporated areas of Denton County. Captain Jose Pena also supervised the Special Enforcement Unit, responsible for patrolling Lake Ray Roberts and Lake Lewisville as a Marine Safety Enforcement officer. Captain Jose Pena was promoted through the ranks of Patrol Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Captain Jose Pena is a graduate of the North Central Texas Regional Police Academy, Basic Course in Applied Police Science class #113, and holds a Master Peace Officer License and a Basic Jailers License.
