Captain Ron Pettigrew


Captain Pettigrew joined the Denton County Sheriff's Office in 2017 and started his assignment with the Internal Affairs Division. Captain Pettigrew began his law enforcement career in 1989 with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Captain Pettigrew first served as a Texas Highway Patrolman before moving into the Narcotics Service. While in narcotics, he spent over a decade conducting undercover operations before being promoted to Lieutenant over the narcotic unit. Captain Pettigrew retired from DPS in 2016, having served the last seven years of his career as a Texas Ranger in Company "B."

Captain Pettigrew is trained in many areas of law enforcement that assist him in Internal Affairs, and these include officer-involved shooting investigations, statement analysis, and interviewing techniques. In addition to this training, Captain Pettigrew is a 2006 graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command.
