Education

After acquiring her B.B.A. degree from Baylor University, Allison graduated from Baylor University Law School in 1983 and began practicing in a local law office that handled both civil and criminal matters in McLennan and surrounding counties.

Career

Allison moved to the North Texas area in 1986 and began working for the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office under Henry Wade in the Juvenile Division handling misdemeanor and felony juvenile criminal cases, cases involving Child Protective Services, and Protective Orders. Allison worked through the ranks to become a District Court Chief and remained at the District Attorney’s Office until 1990; after taking a short break to spend time with family, she returned to the Dallas District Attorney’s Office until December, 1993.

The new year brought a new career in a civil litigation firm in North Dallas, but in 1995, Allison returned to the areas of law that captured her interest the most, criminal and family. For the next 10 years, Allison’s private practice focused on solving the problems most encountered by families in crisis through her family and criminal practice, and an occasional civil lawsuit.

In 2004 and 2005, Allison worked in the Denton County District Attorney’s Office, but returned to her practice in Dallas County in 2006. In 2007, Allison answered the call to serve as Family Law Division Chief in Denton County, bringing 22 years of experience to the Denton County District Attorney’s Office.
