Payment for juror service is processed in approximately 2 to 3 weeks. All payments are mailed.
Please contact Jury Services at 940-349-2230 or 972-434-8830. They will research their records and if additional payment is due notify our office. Payment will be sent in approximately 2 weeks. A check for an additional amount would be issued; the original check could be cashed at any time.
If a check has not been received after 3 weeks, please contact our office at 940-349-3150 or 972-434-8855. We will check if the payment has been returned by the United States Postal Service (USPS). Otherwise, there is a 30-calendar day waiting period before a new check can be issued.
Checks are considered void and forfeited at 90 days from the date of issuance. We will not replace checks that are 90 days or older. According to Tex. Gov. Code § 61.001(f)(1)(2):(f) A reimbursement for expenses under this section is not a property right of a person who reports for jury service for purposes of Chapters 72 and 74, Property Code. If a check, instrument, or other method of payment authorized under Section 113.048, Local Government Code, representing a reimbursement under this section is not presented for payment or redeemed before the 90th day after it is issued: (1) the instrument or other method of payment is considered forfeited and is void; and (2) the money represented by the instrument or other method of payment may be placed or
retained in the county's jury fund, the county's general fund, or any other fund in which county funds can be legally placed, at the discretion of the commissioners court.
