Due to inclement weather and the ongoing ERCOT emergency, DCPH will not host COVID-19 vaccine clinics this week, Tuesday, February 16, through Saturday, February 20.
First and second dose clinics will be scheduled based on vaccine receipt, weather, and road and clinic conditions. Clinic dates and times for next week have not yet been confirmed. Once dates and times are confirmed, DCPH will send appointments via email and text message to those due for second doses, then those next in the waitlist for first doses, starting at #83,593.
Individuals due for their second doses from DCPH between 2/16 through 2/26 will receive appointments from DCPH two to three days ahead of the clinic they will be vaccinated at, starting first with those due this week (2/16-2/19).
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) both advise second doses of both Moderna and Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine can be given up to six weeks after the first dose. This provides vaccine recipients with flexibility to get a second dose at a later date, especially in extenuating circumstances such as these.
DCPH urges community members to stay safe and warm this week. DCPH looks forward to next week’s return of safe and efficient COVID-19 mass vaccination clinics in Denton County!
