[ARCHIVED] Denton County Weekly COVID-19 Update

DCPH COVID-19 Daily Update

For the week of Saturday, April 9, through Thursday, April 14, Denton County Public Health (DCPH) confirmed 235 new cases of COVID-19, 433 recoveries, and five COVID-19 deaths, resulting in 198 fewer active cases.

Denton County remains at a low COVID-19 community level, based on new COVID-19 hospital admissions, existing inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients, and new COVID-19 case rates in Denton County, with data available at DCPH also provides daily COVID-19 updates, including detailed data for cases, recoveries, and jurisdictions online.

COVID-19 deaths can be reported several days to several months after the date of death, due to various reporting agencies and medical records review. Please visit for an in-depth chart displaying dates of death and date of DCPH report.

For cases in which DCPH is unable to confirm recovery date, recoveries will be reported after 21 days have passed after onset of illness or date of test collection, whichever comes first. This format change begins on Monday, April 18.

To minimize spread of COVID-19, DCPH urges community members to:

  • Get vaccinated and boosted when eligible
  • Test five days after exposure or if you have symptoms of COVID-19
  • Isolate, quarantine, and wear a mask when recommended
