[ARCHIVED] Four COVID-19 Deaths and 67 New COVID-19 Cases in Denton County

DCPH COVID-19 Daily Update

Denton County Public Health (DCPH) announced four Denton County community members died as a result of COVID-19, bringing the total to 820 deaths due to COVID-19 in Denton County.  Today’s reported COVID-19 deaths include:

  • A male over 80 who was a resident of Lewisville
  • A male in his 70s who was a resident of Lewisville
  • A male in his 70s who was a resident of Denton
  • A male in his 40s who was a resident of unincorporated southeast Denton County

“As we announce the death of four community members due to COVID-19, please keep their families in your thoughts and prayers,” stated Denton County Judge Andy Eads. “We hope community members will get vaccinated, as vaccination remains the best way to reduce the risk of COVID-19 hospitalization and death.”

DCPH also announced 67 new cases of COVID-19 in Denton County, of which 53 are active cases. This increases the cumulative, countywide total to 178,883 COVID-19 cases.  DCPH also reported 1,555 newly recovered cases of COVID-19, increasing the countywide recovery total to 174,379.

To minimize spread of COVID-19, DCPH urges community members to:

  • Get vaccinated and boosted when eligible
  • Test five days after exposure or if you have symptoms of COVID-19
  • Isolate, quarantine, and wear a mask when recommended
