[ARCHIVED] Six COVID-19 Deaths and 161 New COVID-19 Cases in Denton County

DCPH COVID-19 Daily Update

Denton County Public Health (DCPH) announced six Denton County community members died as a result of COVID-19, bringing the total to 808 deaths due to COVID-19 in Denton County.  Today’s reported COVID-19 deaths include:

  • A male in his 60s who was a resident of Justin
  • A male in his 40s who was a resident of Roanoke
  • A male in his 70s who was a resident of unincorporated northeast Denton County
  • A male in his 70s who was a resident of Carrollton
  • A male in his 70s who was a resident of Denton
  • A female in her 50s who was a resident of unincorporated northwest Denton County

“As we announce the death of six community members due to COVID-19, please keep their families in your thoughts and prayers,” stated Denton County Judge Andy Eads. “We hope community members will get vaccinated, as vaccination remains the best way to reduce the risk of COVID-19 hospitalization and death.”

DCPH also announced 161 new cases of COVID-19 in Denton County, of which 74 are active cases. This increases the cumulative, countywide total to 177,926 COVID-19 cases.  DCPH also reported 2,396 newly recovered cases of COVID-19, increasing the countywide recovery total to 160,296.

To minimize spread of COVID-19, DCPH urges community members to:

  • Get vaccinated and boosted when eligible
  • Test five days after exposure or if you have symptoms of COVID-19
  • Isolate, quarantine, and wear a mask when recommended
