Stretching from FM 407 North to the Denton City Limits near FM 1830, this 4 mile project will widen to a minimum of 26’, replace culverts to improve drainage, and improve the safety of the road. From the Krum city limits to FM 1173 this project just started design. Current design considerations are widening to 24’, consider cost saving measures for internal crews (or major maintenance), and improve drainage. Design is expected to be complete by Spring of 2022.

Near the Ponder Town limits about 1000’ East of SH 156 this project is in design. Currently the County is looking at acquiring easements/ROW for the construction of a new bridge 32’ wide from outside of rail to outside of rail. Funding for this project is coming from TXDOT and the federal bridge program (BRINSAP). Construction Letting is expected to be by Spring of 2022 with a likely start summer of 2022.

Value engineering has put this project on hold as some design changes to reduce the impact of utilities are underway. This road will be reconstructed to accommodate underground drainage, sidewalks, and widen to include left turn lanes and other safety improvements. Construction should start summer of 2021.
