Unit 2 consists of the Pre Trial Jail with 466 beds & the Tower Jail with 384 beds for a total of 850.
Pre Trial has 29 Separations Cells, 5 medical Separations cells, 6 Linear Supervision Housing Units with a capacity of 8 each and eight 48 bed Direct Supervision dorms.
The Tower Jail has a Special Needs Unit that houses 24 and three 72 bed dorms and three 48 bed dorms.
Unit 2 is tasked to maintain safety and security standards per Texas Jail Standards while also maintaining effective and efficient operations. Contained within the Pre Trial facility are the Book-In area, Classification and Mail Room. Additionally, Pre Trial provides a dock for receiving supplies, a small breakroom for staff and a Front Lobby servicing the public.
