Faro is a high speed 3D laser scanner that is used for the detailed measurement and documentation of an area. The scans from the laser produce incredibly high detailed three-dimensional images of the area which usually consist of a crime scene or a motor vehicle fatality. This 3D world allows us to get a variety of measurements such as bullet trajectory, blood spatter analysis, momentum analysis and vehicle crush are just a few. This aids the Investigators in their investigation on what actually took place. The Faro is exceptional in court. It puts the jury at the scene of the accident or crime without having to leave their seats. The Sheriff’s Office currently has 5 Faro operators. Each member has to go through training and be certified before using the Faro. The Faro is a tremendous assets to the Sheriff’s Office.
