Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Public Notice

Denton County Technology Services (DTS) is performing scheduled maintenance to GIS systems December 13th-15th. Landmark and other GIS applications will have limited functionality and/or intermittent down time until the maintenance is complete.

Since 1995, the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) division has provided the growing population of Denton County with an efficient method of storing, editing, and displaying spatially referenced data. With this shared database, County departments and the general public have access to County information, cadastral data, and other useful geographic resources.

The GIS Division creates, manages, and visualizes County data that depict:

  • Emergency Service Districts
  • FEMA Floodplain
  • Freshwater Districts
  • Oil and Gas Wells
  • Political and Municipal Boundaries
  • Road Improvement Projects
  • Transportation Networks
  • Voter Precincts and Other Publicly Available Data

The goal is to provide a medium to create a more informed public and increase data accessibility in Denton County.
